I Wish to Fly( A Rondeau )

Author

I wish to fly where the doves cry,
Soothe their sick souls, wipe their tears dry.
Where green has turned red, Nature creeps,
Tattered children, hollow eyes, none sleeps,
Where Pride and Ego, all sense defy.

Where freedom is locked, hope feels shy,
Poverty rampant, riches sly,
They crave for their love, hatred beeps—
I wish to fly.

Dark clouds mostly cover the sky,
The sun utters a hopeless sigh.
Devil howls, terrified race bleeps,
Fear drives them to drown in the deeps.
Why flight? Like humans, fight, my try—
I wish to fly.
