Navigating Infinity in Futility

Author

My frantic quest to grasp infinity

Leaves me floundering in darkness,

Never melting into the dawn.

Caught amidst the infinitely chaotic

Planetary dichotomy of truth and falsehood,

Good and evil,

Virtue and vice,

Light and darkness,

Joy and sorrow,

That perpetually engage in a game of hide-and-seek,

My thoughts and gazes flutter,

Gaining momentum, yet leaving me confounded.

Immobile, frozen, and breathless,

I lose touch with life itself,

Even the sensation of existence.

My limbs, paralyzed,

Unable to stir,

My mind, stagnant,

Unable to conceive a thought,

Drifting aimlessly

On treacherous, unknown paths,

Or like a ship without a rudder

On stormy seas.

Failing to plumb the depths of infinity.

Reduced to a statue while alive,

I question my bewildered inner self:

‘Is this an altered state of consciousness,

Or a harrowing psychic failure?’
