Riding the Quest<\/strong><\/h3>

\u00a0<\/p>

Riding the online highway on digital strides<\/p>

My mind seemed to gallop to distant spaces<\/p>

Of feelings furiously passionate and<\/p>

Intuitions rich with intimations of love.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Convincing confession of true emotions<\/p>

And feelings resonating with recognition<\/p>

Hint at the actualization of my other Self.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Yet you must know what you have known.<\/p>

The soil is so distant in terms of time and<\/p>

Space, seeds ripen off a hundred desires,<\/p>

Each desire urges little dreams which<\/p>

Visit each one impersonating as varying<\/p>

Silhouettes of the individual unconscious.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

A digital highway or the walls of a home<\/p>

Play host to two minds merge into one;<\/p>

Call it a yearning or all life pine after it,<\/p>

This state broadens bearings of relation<\/p>

Between man-woman or engages each<\/p>

For a lifelong quest for the ideal other,<\/p>

Mirror- image to recoup what one lacks.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

On a certain day as you want to know<\/p>

Where the other Self is, you only hear :<\/p>

I didn’t go anywhere, I am where I am.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Another Truth<\/strong><\/h3>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>

Aborting the birth of a baby, death<\/p>

Stifles heartbeat in the embryo<\/p>

Like a lonesome Hibiscus fades<\/p>

Amid buds of a different species<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

A miscarried truth is not the end<\/p>

But a beginning of another truth,<\/p>

Passions bloom on another hour<\/p>

And survive the notorious ways<\/p>

Of a chance betrayed by\u00a0 mishap.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Can’t quarrel with pain in the bargain,<\/p>

For one can’t be ever clairvoyant in life,<\/p>

It may augur not as we always expect,<\/p>

Yet by trust alone in our good we\u00a0 live.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Dr Lalit Mohan Sharma, born in 1952, has published ten books of English poetry which include ‘Man with A Horn’, ‘Eyes of Silence’ and ‘There’s No Death’.\u00a0 His book, A Three- Step Journey, is English translation of Zahid’s Urdu poems. ‘Icicles of Time’ is the latest in 2024.<\/p>

\u00a0Sharma was conferred with ‘Master of Creative Impulse’ at World Poetry Conference in 2019.<\/p>
