What if you are democracy?<\/p>

I am still alive<\/p>

Do you know?<\/p>

Who am I?<\/p>

I am O\u2019Dawyer<\/p>

In the form of<\/p>

Democratic Administrator<\/p>

You are on bend stretch<\/p>

When I become brute<\/p>

Oh! Democracy<\/p>

You are my foot<\/p>

Your all components<\/p>

become weak<\/p>

when I am on peak<\/p>

When I order<\/p>

you become meek and moot<\/p>

Oh! Democracy<\/p>

You are my foot<\/p>

Though being powerful<\/p>

neither hopeful<\/p>

nor cheerful<\/p>

Though I am not insightful<\/p>

rein you by hoot<\/p>

Oh! Democracy<\/p>

You are my foot<\/p>

Oh! Coward democracy<\/p>

Go down the drain<\/p>

before you slain<\/p>

I shall never allow you<\/p>

to mount and sit<\/p>

Oh! Democracy<\/p>

Where is your bosom of<\/p>

So broad and magnanimous?<\/p>

When you are crashed out<\/p>

to \u201cRight of Speech\u201d<\/p>

Seemingly weaker than 1828<\/p>

Where you advanced with<\/p>

Your tongue was in my boot<\/p>

Oh! Democracy<\/p>

I looked for salvation<\/p>

in physical body or representivity<\/p>

rather than in future immortality<\/p>

I preferred the physical Universe of nature<\/p>

rather than true self<\/p>

or<\/p>

\u2018power of my creature\u2019<\/p>

I entangled in the cycle of generation<\/p>

rather than to get rid of copulation<\/p>

I ate the forbidden fruit<\/p>

rather than to follow his route<\/p>

Consequently<\/p>

penalty declared by God<\/p>

I was expelled from my Abode<\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Futility of war<\/strong><\/p>

Sitting with an exuberant mood<\/p>

Everything undergoes a change of burst<\/p>

Father and brothers are killed in a war<\/p>

A great responsibility is thrust<\/p>

to defend people from slavery of czar,<\/p>

to avenge the death of dear first<\/p>

Mother incites to take sword,<\/p>

to lead the army against the forged,<\/p>

to honor the memory of deceased,<\/p>

to keep unblemished the sword<\/p>

to challenge the male supremacy of warlords<\/p>

Continued in the collective insight of hill abode<\/p>

Full of tension and pathos<\/p>

Gauntlets to inspire the mammoths<\/p>

Unite them to inflict crushing defeat on foes<\/p>

Calls upon to free the country and friends<\/p>

Gathers to revenge the Prince killed in wars<\/p>

Hiding marriage dream to be solemnized on the mars<\/p>

Defensive war leads<\/p>

to a series of bloody confrontations<\/p>

Continue for years,<\/p>

Culminating in the victory<\/p>

Loses comrades and many powerful fighters<\/p>

Consequences turn into favor of mightier<\/p>

Surviving forces are tired of test<\/p>

Sanctioned leave to rest<\/p>

Visit to their families\u2019 nest<\/p>

Celebrate the task as a feast<\/p>

Leave the opponent a least<\/p>

Stand in tent as a guest<\/p>

She too decides to go home<\/p>

to take a bath in river alone<\/p>

to breathe in the tranquility of moon<\/p>

to take rest in nature\u2019s loom<\/p>

to be calm and serene, avoiding doom<\/p>

surviving the idea of celebrating honeymoon<\/p>

Arch-enemy, severely wounded<\/p>

Pride brushed, surreptitiously<\/p>

Follows her, determining to attack<\/p>

When she starts bathing without escorts<\/p>

With his deep rooted sense of revenges<\/p>

malafide intention he manages<\/p>

Makes out the sense of fear<\/p>

Challenges arrogant male warrior<\/p>

Forces him to bite the dust<\/p>

Vanquished neighboring ruler,<\/p>

who had killed her father and brothers<\/p>

in aggravate failure<\/p>

In the denouement, one can watch<\/p>

bodies on bodies hated one another<\/p>

Intensely found with nobody<\/p>

to weep for them<\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Dr. Dalvir Singh Gahlawat<\/strong> is a retired Inspector Delhi Police. Born in a small hamlet (Raipur) of District Jhajjar, Haryana, India. During his service he got M.A. Political Science, M.A English, M. Phil. English and PhD in English. He visited all over India and abroad and attended above fifty UGC\/BPRD sponsored National and International Seminars. He chaired sessions at various International level seminars and also remained \u2018Resource Person\u2019 and \u2018Key Note Speaker, \u2018Guests of Honor in these seminars. Presently, he has more than fifty Research papers<\/u>, including poems and short stories. His Poems \u201cBoat of Life\u201d, and \u201cI am Politics\u201d\u00a0 were selected the best poems in the International Poetry Fest -2011 held at Guntur, AP, on 11.11.2011 and 21-22 September 2017 respectively. He also attended 42nd<\/sup> All India Police Science Congress held at Gangtok, Sikkim from 15-17 Feb, 2012<\/u> and presented his papers there. He has nine books<\/u> to his credit.
