smiled<\/p>\n<p>The baby grew up and walked<\/p>\n<p>The parents smiled.<\/p>\n<p>The Baby became a boy<\/p>\n<p>The parents started dreaming<\/p>\n<p>The Boy grew older<\/p>\n<p>The dreams \u2014 were they ever met?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Teenager with no thought about life<\/p>\n<p>The Teenager just enjoying Life as it came,<\/p>\n<p>Soon the Teenager became Adult<\/p>\n<p>The parents still smiled.<\/p>\n<p>Water flowed under the bridge<\/p>\n<p>Time flapped its wings and flew<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Adult contiinued growlng older<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities kept increasing<\/p>\n<p>Trying to make others happy<\/p>\n<p>That we live for others is not a lie<\/p>\n<p>Life has its way of taking its toll thereby<\/p>\n<p>At the end do we make others happy<\/p>\n<p>Is a question better not asked<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Life only knows when time flies<\/p>\n<p>Flapping its wings wide, oh How it flew<\/p>\n<p>Innocence of the baby that showed on its face<\/p>\n<p>Replaced by wrinkles that appeared on the adult face<\/p>\n<p>Flapping its wings wide how Time Flew<\/p>\n<p>On a white canvas of life patterns it drew<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The canvas became cluttered<\/p>\n<p>Did not notice till too late<\/p>\n<p>Now it does not matter as soon it will all end<\/p>\n<p>One day soon all this will end<\/p>\n<p>One day soon the birds will not be heard singing<\/p>\n<p>Because I won\u2019t be there to hear their songs<\/p>\n<p>One day there will be no more me.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Why do we take birth If we finally die<\/p>\n<p>Waves fall for waves to rise Poet Rabindranath has said<\/p>\n<p>Why have waves at all is my bigger question<\/p>\n<p>Why spend life if at the end all it does is get spent<\/p>\n<p>Why live life if there is nothing for it to show<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So my dear ones\u2026 I wish no tears for me<\/p>\n<p>One day there will be no more me.<\/p>\n<p>Like the morning dew that vanishes from the grass without a trace<\/p>\n<p>One day I will vanish too from the this world\u2019s face<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No tears for me, no farewell speeches<\/p>\n<p>For I have done nothing to deserve your wreaths<\/p>\n<p>No missing me no photo frames<\/p>\n<p>Wipe me off from your memories<\/p>\n<p>Dust to Dust, ashes to ashes<\/p>\n<p>Let me just fade away like the morning dew<\/p>\n<p>Momentary, ephemeral \u2026..that is truly ME.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 My Epitaph \u2014<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shantanu Das, a 67-year-old retired senior management professional and engineer by qualification, has had a life deeply influenced by his early years spent in the Pondicherry Ashram during the time of \u201cThe Mother.\u201d This experience, he believes, imbued him with a touch of divine consciousness as a child. His life\u2019s journey has been so impactful that, on occasion, his thoughts find expression through a few poetic lines, which he shares here. However, he humbly acknowledges the limitations of words in capturing the profound feelings within his mind.
