Almost Perfect

Almost Perfect

Without any centre
my true self peels off
in layers of
memories, dreams, desires–
some experienced,
others unfulfilled.

I remember not
being myself
my thoughts
and promises
yours or mine.

I will be myself
the day I catch the winds
with my fingers
to become fire
with a passionate glow,
melt and crystallize
into a rare and perfect glass.
