Editorial

Since its inception in January 2024, Afflatus Creations has supported the publication of creativity, whether in the form of poetry or academic writings, written by seasoned, established or emerging wordsmiths without any publication charges. We strongly believe that creativity is a vital life force that propels people towards self-discovery and supports the development of writing skills, and hence, it needs to be supported.

We hope that literary enthusiasts will uncover, embrace and cultivate their creative potential, making them the driving force in their journey through the vast field of creative expression – Sir Ken Robinson, British Author and orator, remarked, “Creativity is not reserved for the chosen few. It’s part of the human condition, and we all have the capacity to tap into it.” And in the spirit of William Wordsworth, we encourage interested people to: “Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” There is nothing to creativity other than what Ernest Hemingway famously stated: “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” Afllatus Creations stands by these words and advocates that everyone has a story or insight to share.

Maya Angelou observed: “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” So, we invite young writers to put their ideas and thoughts onto paper and join us in the Afflatus Creations mission—let your creativity shine and inspire those around you. As an internationally connected online journal, Afflatus Creations reaches a broad demographic of readers and writers.

Welcome to the October edition of Afflatus Creations, wherein we again present another issue of contemporary literature. We reaffirm our commitment to providing a platform for established and budding poets, academic writers, and critics and reviewers to express their interpretations and evaluations of authors across the globe.

We invite academicians, teachers, students, and avid readers interested in literary studies to read the works of diverse voices presented in this issue, discover, connect, and be inspired. We also encourage them to share their thoughts and appreciation with us, which we can publish on the Afflatus Creations Blog at https://afflatuscreations.com/index.php/blog/

As Twyla Tharp, America’s most important contemporary dance choreographer and author of the book “The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life” said: “Creativity is not just for artists. It’s for businesspeople looking for a new way to close a sale; it’s for engineers trying to solve a problem; it’s for parents who want their children to see the world in more than one way.”

While we thank the contributors for participating in the Afflatus Creations literary journey, we eagerly look forward to their continued engagement and contributions from other creative talents. Please note that our “Teenage Page” provides aspiring teenagers with a fun space to express themselves. This author supports the belief of Madeline L’Engle, an American writer of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, that “Creativity is a way of living life, no matter our vocation or how we earn our living.”

With the above in mind, we also encourage readers and contributors to share our online issues, expanding the overall reach of Afflatus Creations and their own creative expressions.

We thank our contributors for enriching our journal and invite them, along with new voices, to continue their creative journey with us. As a Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami pointed out, “If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.” Expand your horizons with us, challenge your perspectives, and enjoy the literary contents of Afflatus Creations.

Happy reading.
